What are peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids and are present in every living cell, with different variations of peptides occurring naturally in our bodies. They act as messengers in our bodies to stimulate our cells to perform specific tasks. Peptides can be prescribed to reduce inflammation, improve athletic performance, general wellness, pain management, weight management, and overcome health declines associated with the aging process, illnesses, injuries, and diseases.
Why try peptides?
Peptides have helped thousands struggling with different ailments in their lives that have not found relief or proper treatment by standard Western Medicine practices.

What are some signs of Growth Hormone Deficiency?
As we age, it is common for people to experience progressive declines in our strength, muscle mass, aerobic capacity, endurance, recovery, energy levels, and mood changes, among other symptomology. Growth Hormone (GH) secretion also starts to decrease as we age, contributing to the symptoms.
Signs of GH Deficiency includes:
- Decrease in lean muscle mass
- Decrease in bone density
- Increased fat accumulation
- Loss of skin elasticity
- Slow recovery from injury or training
- Increased hair loss
- Increased cholesterol levels
- Impaired glucose tolerance and insulin resistance
- Increased anxiety and depression
- Cognitive changes
- Fatigue
How can I increase my Growth Hormone levels?
When natural levels of GH start to decline, GH replacement can be utilized to restore optimal levels in our bodies to optimize how we look, feel, and perform. Taking synthetic GH long term has potential health risks and side effects, so instead, we produce the same results through optimizing your body’s OWN production of GH. This is achieved with peptide therapy by using GH releasing hormones (GHRH) or other GH secretagogues (GHS). These peptides stimulate your body to produce or release its own GH, making it a safer and less expensive alternative treatment plan. Optimize Your Health Safely and Efficiently!
Where do your peptides come from?
Mission Med+ utilizes compounded peptides from State Board of Pharmacy licensed sterile 503(A) compounding pharmacies or FDA-licensed 503(B) Outsourcing Facilities. We work with certified pharmacies in all 50 states using only the highest quality and purity, and they must operate under strict quality control measures. All peptides are tested for efficacy and purity before shipping to patients.
Do I need blood work?
Getting started with your Elite Optimization Peptide protocol requires a comprehensive blood panel to assess your current biomarkers. Our providers want to review your health status to truly enhance your health from the inside out. Our patient’s safety is a priority for our team, so proper monitoring is key to optimizing your health and wellness.
How long until I see results?
This will vary depending on your specific protocol. Some peptides kick in right away, while others have a loading effect and will take a few months to feel the full benefits.
Do you take insurance?
We do not take insurance; however, you can use your HSA/FSH card for packages and products.
How soon will I receive my medications?
After your provider has prescribed your medications, we send your prescription to one of our pharmacy partners. Orders are processed within 5-7 business days and then shipped overnight.

How do I administer the peptides?
All shipments will come with your prescribed peptides, mixing kits (if applicable), alcohol prep pads, syringes, and needles. You will utilize a small insulin needle to administer the peptides subcutaneously. This means pinching up a small area of fatty tissue and injecting your prescribed dosage. Stay at least 2 inches away from your belly button, and rotate your injection site each time. It is best to inject your peptides on an empty stomach. Always clean the injection site and your vial before withdrawing your medication. Vials expire 28 days after being punctured. This ensures maximum safety and efficacy of your peptides.
What does a Peptide Dosing Schedule look like?
Depending on your prescribed peptides, you may take them 5 to 7 times per week through a subcutaneous injection on an empty stomach before bedtime. We start doses low and titrate depending on tolerance and overall wellness goals.
Are peptides legal?
Yes, peptides are legal. There are 3 different categories of peptides: 1, 2, and 3.
Category 1 is ok, 2 is a grey area, and 3 is a no.
On October 6, 2023, the FDA changed some peptides to different categories. Many of our favorite peptides went from category 1 to category 2. Because some of the peptides moved to category 2, many compounding pharmacies stopped compounding those peptides. It doesn’t say the pharmacies cannot compound these peptides anymore, but that the FDA has the power to take action against pharmacies using these substances, if it chooses to. Just because some are now in category 2 does NOT make them illegal. The FDA just wants to obtain more information on the safety profiles of peptides that have been benefiting thousands of people’s health. Take what you want from that. With that being said, each pharmacy must comply with their state pharmacy board and act according to their specific requirements and guidelines around compounding peptides. We only work with certified compounding pharmacies who are diligent on their quality control practices to continue to offer prescribed peptides to our patients.
Be wary of “No Prescription” peptide companies.
Consumers need to understand that a peptide must possess a purity grade of at least 99.6%. Put simply, anything falling below this standard poses a significant risk. Therefore, when considering peptide therapy, it becomes essential for it to be overseen by a competent healthcare professional and sourced from a reputable establishment, such as an FDA-approved 503A/B compounding pharmacy. Moreover, quality control measures must be in place to ensure the purity, quality, and efficacy of the peptides being used. While the prospect of acquiring peptides, without a prescription, from an unauthorized source might appear cost-effective, it’s crucial to thoroughly weigh the associated health risks against the potential benefits and apparent cost savings. Your health is simply not worth the risks.
